P184 - paua shell
This piece steps a little bit outside our normal work, as it is made of a paua (abalone) shell rather than stone. The iridescence comes from nacre, or mother-of-pearl, naturally produced by the abalone. Both sides display gorgeous, shimmery colouring. This long vaguely-triangular piece is wrapped in Argentium sterling silver in such a way that either face can be displayed when worn.
